Cameron, Missouri

 

Founded in 1855 and incorporated in 1867, Cameron has had a long history of hardy and hardworking people. Placed as a stop along the Hannibal-Saint Joseph rail route, Cameron has since maintained its foothold as a crossroads town. With Interstate 35 and U.S. Route 36 crossing, it’s become a stopping point for countless travellers each year. In addition to serving passenger vehicles along the highway, Cameron is centrally located between a variety of river and rail hubs and perfectly set up to service trucking traffic through the area. It truly is the Crossroads of the Nation.

Cameron extends into three counties: Clinton, Caldwell, and Dekalb. (Earley Business Park itself is located in Clinton county.)

  • Population

    At the time of the 2020 census, Cameron had a population of 8,513. Cameron also serves as an economic, healthcare, and entertainment hub for smaller nearby towns such as Hamilton and Osborn.

  • Schools

    Cameron is home to the Cameron Dragons. Schools include Parkview Elementary, Cameron Intermediate School, Cameron Veterans Middle School, and Cameron High School.

  • Transportation & Logistics

    Interstate 35, which runs north/south through Cameraon, is a Tier 1 corridor and is considered a high priority shipping route. U.S. 36 runs east/west and is a main trucking route between Kansas City and Chicago.
